How it works

  1. 1

    Name the trip

Give it a title, then add up to three stops with a place, a date and a line.

  2. 2

    Add photos to each stop

One or two photos per stop. Each stop becomes its own page.

  3. 3

    Download or keep going

Download a page as a PNG, or continue in the editor and add the rest of the trip.

Travel journal ideas

One page per city

Give each city its own page, with three or four photos and a short line about what the day felt like. Travel journal templates give you a starting layout, and you can move things once the photos are in. Keeping one city per page makes a ten-day trip readable instead of a wall of pictures. Write the small details while they are fresh, because a year later the name of the bakery matters more than the view.

A trip journal for the whole family

Collect photos from everyone, then build the pages together. One person picks the photos, another writes the captions, and the handwritten-style fonts make short notes look intentional. This is also a good way to keep a trip journal going after you get home, when everyone still remembers the jokes. Keep it private until you decide to share, and export a video at the end so it is easy to send to relatives.

A short trip with 30 photos

A weekend away often gives you more photos than you expect. A travel journal template that fits four photos per page can hold a whole trip in eight pages, which is inside the fifteen-page limit of the free plan. Sort the photos by day, pick the sharpest one for each stop, and let the rest go. The pages you keep will be the ones you actually reread.

Photo journal pages for slow travel

If you stay in one place for a week, a daily page works better than a stop-by-stop record. One photo of the street, one of the meal, one of the view from the window, plus a sentence about the weather. Travel journal templates handle the layout so you can spend the time writing instead of aligning boxes. After a few weeks, the pages add up to something closer to a diary than a holiday album.

Questions and answers

Is the travel journal free?

Manual editing, saving, and sharing cost nothing, including exports. AI features such as photo grouping, layout suggestions, and text drafts use credits, and you get 60 free credits each month. Failed AI steps return the credits.

Do I need to sign up?

You can use the page generator and download a PNG without logging in. A free account lets you save your work and come back to it later.

Are my travel photos private?

Yes. Photos and pages are private by default. They only become public if you choose to share a page to the community, and you can keep a whole trip to yourself.

Can I edit pages after I save them?

Yes. Open the journal anytime to move photos, rewrite notes, change fonts, or change the layout. Exports do not lock the original pages, so you can make another version later.

Can I export my travel journal?

Finished pages export as images, or as a video for the whole journal. A PNG preview is available without an account, which is useful when you only want to check one page.

How is this different from a photo album app?

A photo album app sorts pictures. Here you write the dates, the places, and the small things, and lay the pages out by hand or with a template. It reads like a journal, not a grid of thumbnails.
